Alex Rahin joins Beamly as CPO following successful Search by Renovata
Founded in London in 2011, Beamly is the social discovery platform and end-to-end marketing organization acquired by Coty in 2015. We are delighted to announce the appointment of Alex Rahin as Beamly’s new Chief Product Officer.
Coty was founded in Paris in 1904 and today is the world’s #1 fragrance manufacturer, the #2 leader in salon hair products, and the #3 make-up provider. In October 2016, Coty acquired Procter & Gamble’s 43 beauty brands across perfume, hair and make-up, for $12.5B: the largest cosmetics acquisition in history.
Beamly, formerly Zeebox, brings together cutting-edge technology and the creative energy of programme-makers, fans, stars and journalists to create the ultimate destination for media lovers. It received backing from some of the world’s largest TV businesses, including Comcast, NBCUniversal, Viacom and BSkyB; before an innovative acquisition by Coty made Beamly the beauty retailer’s in-house customer engagement and content marketing agency whilst still servicing external clients.
Alex is an entrepreneurial technology leader with over 20 years hands-on experience in developing and executing technical & commercial product strategies. Following a successful initial career in real estate (including a private exit), Alex moved into tech with seven years at Intel; culminating with the Manager, Product Management & Technical Marketing role. Seeking a new entrepreneurial success, he founded Onveon, an innovative startup delivering online advertising, marketing, and lead generation solutions. He then went on to work at some of the leading global technology businesses including Microsoft and Amazon before becoming VP, Data and Machine Learnrning Products at Zalando. Immediately prior to joining Beamly, Alex was the Chief Data Officer at Just Eat.
This role reports to Jason Forbes, Beamly’s CEO and Coty’s Chief Digital & Media Officer, based in London. Alex will be tasked with defining and delivering an optimal product strategy to deliver value to both Beamly and Coty.
Mannie Gill, Partner at Renovata says, “Beamly is unique in its ownership of highly capable data science, product and engineering teams; plus world-class product innovation buy-in from partners like Google, Facebook and Amazon.
