Capp recruits Rob Davis as CTO; Executive Search by Renovata
Founded 2005 and based in London and Birmingham, and with offices in New York and Sydney, Capp is an innovative talent assessment and development technology business. We are very pleased to announce that following a successful search by Renovata, the business has appointed Rob Davis as CTO.
Capp’s vision is to “match the world to their perfect job” and has therefore focused on designing better ways of assessing people. The business is premised on a unique “Strengths methodology”, proven to increase engagement and motivation, leading to better performance, productivity and improved retention. Innovations include the development of time-recorded (rather than time-limited) tests, the introduction of Virtual Reality-based assessments, and immersive, integrated online assessments that take a candidate through real-world simulations to assess likely performance in-role. Following a recent growth equity investment in the business, Renovata were retained to hire a CTO; a role which, given Capp’s focus on technology and innovation, will be critical in the company’s next phase of development.
In an almost thirty year career in technology, Rob has spent over 20 years with one of the UK’s most successful technology business, Sage. During this time, he has managed the company’s technology evolution during periods of dramatic growth; including leading and recruiting teams and managing the delivery of major infrastructure projects. Most recently, as VP Product Engineering, Sage One Global (2016 –2018) Rob led the engineering function across global development centres on Sage One, the company’s flagship small business cloud accounting product, a key cloud development for the business. In late 2017, Rob also took responsibility for Sage’s Worldwide Payments and Banking and Accountants Cloud Product Engineering teams across North America, South Africa and Europe.
Reporting directly to CEO, Dr Alex Linley, Rob will be wholly responsible for driving Capp’s technology strategy, building out the technology team and delivering on the company’s platform vision and focus on innovation.
