Lars Dige Pedersen takes CEO role at Questionmark following search by Renovata

Questionmark is the PE-backed assessment platform for certification, regulatory compliance and workforce learning applications. Lars Dige Pedersen joins the company as CEO, following a successful search conducted by Renovata.

Founded back in 1988, Questionmark provides technologies and services that help organizations to securely measure knowledge, skills, and attitudes; evidencing competence and quality particularly in highly regulated work environments. Questionmark solutions enable reliable, valid and defensible assessments by empowering learning and testing professionals with collaborative authoring tools, and meeting participant needs with blended and multilingual delivery; all with timely reporting and meaningful analytics to support business decision-making and optimal employee recruitment/engagement activity. The business received Private Equity funding from FPE Capital (also successful investors in the Kallidus e-learning platform) in September 2016. The company is based in two hubs; London in the UK and Trumbull, CT in the US, but is available in 36 languages and delivers several million assessments annually.

Lars is a consistent creator of high-performance executive teams and growth in sophisticated private equity and VC owned technology organizations; and his sector experience spans fintech, wireless/telco, offshore and defence. In an eight-year career at NetTest, the telecom equipment and managed services subsidiary of Denmark’s GN Store Nord, he rose from Product Manager to Deputy CEO of the $120M business. Leadership roles followed at a number of other telco infrastructure businesses (President, Anritsu; CEO Reson Sonar; CEO, Commprove) before he broadened his expertise to the rapidly-developing payments ecosystem with the CEO role at Creditcall, the payment gateway business (PE-owned, including FPE Capital, investors in Questionmark). When Network Merchants (NMI) acquired Creditcall, he became President and COO. Today, Lars still chairs the board of Xena Networks (Denmark, network testing) and runs InnovFocus, a personal consultancy focused on corporate strategy.

Reporting to the board, Lars will take full responsibility for the direction, leadership, strategy and motivation of the organisation. In particular, he will be tasked with building an outstanding enterprise Sales & Marketing organization on both a direct and partner basis, to grow the business into new verticals, markets and geographies.

Lisa Morgan, Consultant at Renovata, says “Lars has an exceptional pedigree in creating growth and value in PE-backed businesses; and Questionmark clearly has the potential for dramatic expansion. New technologies and a need for quantitative and qualitative metrics on efficiency are combining to make this an exciting period for the business, and Lars brings the leadership talent to capitalise on this opportunity.”
