The Drum: “Coty focuses on AI with growth accelerator competition”
Marketing industry bible, The Drum, reports on the launch of Coty’s second annual accelerator programme, designed to expose the business to the best digital startups in exchange for bounties of between $10,000 and $50,000.
Renovata is delighted to have worked with both Coty and its ground-breaking in-house agency subsidiary, Beamly. Founded in Paris in 1904, Coty is today the #1 fragrance manufacturer, the #2 leader in salon hair products, and the #3 make-up provider in the world. Its iconic brands include Calvin Klein, Gucci, Hugo Boss, Marc Jacobs, Max Factor, Rimmel and Wella.
Eight digital start-ups will benefit from the programme, with pitches taking place before the end of March. The key focus is Artificial Intelligence and how it might be used to promote and enhance Coty brands.
Coty has a strong track record in putting experiential innovation at the heart of its marketing. It recently launched the world’s first “live mobile-web try on experience using Augmented Reality”, making a virtual try-on of beauty products available directly in a web browser on most smartphones without the need for an app download.
