The Register: “Scality swallows $60m to tame the multi-cloud data management beast”
The Register reports on the latest round of funding for Renovata client, Scality, the cloud storage platform that leverages software-defined objects for optimised data management in multi-cloud environments.
The $60M round was arranged by investment bank, Silverpeak, with backing from Scality’s original investors plus a new injection from Harbert European Growth Capital.
The Register speculates that the jewel in Scality’s crown is Zenko, the company’s open-source public cloud gateway, which will support, for example, AI-driven contextual searches across multiple cloud spaces.
The company says, “Scality will use the new infusion to accelerate its bold investment in engineering to innovate in ways that transform IT and simplify the path to creating value with data.”
